My husband and I spent a week at the Casita on our honeymoon and it was unforgettable. We rented a car and drove to the Casita from the airport in Puerto Plata, and from the moment we arrived we felt right at home. The grounds are beautiful from the banana trees at the top of the driveway to the private infinity pool overlooking stunning views of the ocean and cliffs in the distance. The Casita has it all, peace and quiet, comfort and total privacy. We slept late and woke to the sound of crashing waves. We spent much of the days soaking up the sun and reading in two lounge chairs by the pool and evenings enjoying a cold drink on the porch playing cards before heading out to dinner. We ate dinner out at local spots in town and made breakfast and lunch in the fully equipped modern kitchen at the Casita. The bathroom is worth mentioning because the shower has the feel of an outdoor shower and the double sinks were a luxury we dont have at home.
There was a friendly groundskeeper on the property 24/7 who took meticulous care of the pool and greeted us as we came and went.
We ventured out every day and visited nearby beaches and towns. One afternoon we met some locals at the beach who took us to a womens softball tournament and on another occasion we got quite a show from a group of local teens jumping off a waterfall into the cold water below.
All in all the Casita is the perfect spot for a totally relaxing, peaceful vacation. We left fully rested and refreshed and already looking forward to our next visit!
An unbelievable paradise!

I was able to spend more than a week at this remarkable Casita last month. Everything was absolutely perfect, the house itself, the interior and exterior design, the outdoor seating and dining areas (that were always in the cool shade), the pool, lounges, grounds, view, constant cooling breeze, I could go on and on. Beautiful flowers awaited us inside, on the table, the bed and the bath. The kitchen is fully equipped and full of basic food staples to make life easier. The bathroom is exquisite with a partially open shower with a floor of river stones and sea life tiles. Plenty of space in a huge closet along with an immense and beautiful mirror. The pool is kept in immaculate condition and every leaf on the ground is picked up daily by your own groundsman/watchman. At night there is another lovely man to watch over the property. This is not a gated community, it is set on the most beautiful spot with only a few bits of houses in view. We never saw another sole. It was just what we were looking for - a perfect romantic getaway! We had most all of our meals at the house, it was too hard to leave! There is a grocery, a fabulous bakery (that made us a cake to order) and a very good produce market in town. The town is basic but everyone is very friendly and we found everything we needed. We had lunch at Playa Grande beach (a couple of miles away) and they set up a table and chairs wherever we wished and brought us perfectly cooked red snapper and the best conch salad we have ever had. One day we ordered fish from the beach stands and brought it home. Even thought the beach is brilliant, we loved being at the house. We were able to arrange to have several massages at the house, right on the shaded porch-with the breeze blowing over us-it was an amazing experience, and a very good massage, too! (By Belkis from Susana Day Spa in town.) Gretchen gave us a call to make sure all was well and the house manager checked in several times and took us into town our first day to show us where to shop and some restaurants to try. We were well taken care of on every level. It was a dream come true for me and my husband and we can't wait to return!
